Terms & Conditions

Our Services

At For Home Organising, the heart of our work is to help you create a home that feels lighter, calmer, and easier to live in. We offer decluttering, organising, move-management and unpacking services delivered with sensitivity, respect, and without judgement.

You remain in full control of all decisions about what to keep, donate, recycle, or discard. Our role is to guide, support, and create systems that bring clarity and ease to your everyday life.

Scope of Work

We support you with decluttering, organising, and creating functional systems in your home.

We do not remove waste, recycling, charity donations, or items for sale. These remain the responsibility of the client.

We can help you sort and prepare items for disposal or donation, but the physical removal must be carried out by you or a licensed service.

We do not undertake specialist cleaning, hazardous waste handling, or structural work.

Safety, Access & Working Conditions

Loft Access

For safety reasons, we will only enter lofts/attics if:

  • A second person is present (either a colleague or the client),

  • The loft is fully boarded to building-regulation standards, and

  • There is a building-regulation-approved fixed loft ladder.

If these conditions are not met, we will work with you to sort loft items outside the loft space.

General Safety

We may pause or decline a session if the environment is unsafe, including:

  • Structural issues

  • Exposed wiring

  • Animal waste

  • Mould or damp

  • Pest infestations

  • Fire hazards

  • Biohazards

Working Conditions

To ensure a safe and comfortable session:

  • Adequate lighting, ventilation, and access must be provided.

  • For sessions over 4 hours, short breaks will be taken as needed.

  • Pets should be secured if they may interfere with the session.

  • Children remain the responsibility of the client at all times.

Personal Safety

Your safety and wellbeing are important to us, and we also take steps to ensure our own safety during sessions.

For the duration of any in-home session:

  • A trusted family member or friend will be aware of the session and its location.

  • For Home Organising may share the session location with a designated family member for the period of the appointment.

  • This information is shared solely for personal safety and is not stored or used for any other purpose.

  • Once the session has ended, the shared location information will be deleted.

  • We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in creating a safe working environment for everyone involved.

Emotional Wellbeing

Decluttering can bring up emotions, memories, and moments of overwhelm. We will always work gently and at a pace that feels manageable for you.

However:

  • If you become overwhelmed or unable to make decisions, we may pause the session.

  • We may suggest shorter sessions or a phased approach for your wellbeing.

  • We are not mental-health professionals and cannot provide clinical support for hoarding disorder.

  • If the level of clutter or risk is significantly different from what was described, we may pause the session and discuss next steps.

Valuables & Important Documents

To avoid misunderstandings:

  • Please secure valuables, cash, jewellery, heirlooms, and important documents before the session.

  • We are not responsible for locating missing items.

  • We will not make decisions about items of financial or sentimental value.

Parking, Access & Travel

  • The client must ensure safe parking and access to the property.

  • Any parking charges or access fees are payable by the client.

  • If access is delayed, the session time still runs.

Payment Terms

  • A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking.

  • The remaining 50% is due on completion of the session or project.

Additional Time or Purchases

  • Additional hours will always be agreed with you in advance.

  • Storage products or organisational items purchased on your behalf will be added to your final invoice.

  • Product recommendations are based on experience, but we are not responsible for product performance, defects, or delivery delays.

  • Assembly or installation is not included unless agreed separately.

Booking Confirmation & Late Payment

Your booking is confirmed once the 50% deposit has been received. Until the deposit is paid, dates remain provisional and may be offered to other clients.

The remaining balance is due within 24 hours of the session being completed, unless we have agreed specific milestones or staged payments in advance. This helps keep the process smooth and ensures that your project continues without delay.

If payment is not received within the agreed timeframe, a reminder will be sent. Continued non-payment may result in the outstanding balance being referred to a debt collection agency, and any associated fees may be added to the amount owed. This step is always a last resort, and we will communicate with you clearly before taking further action.

Cancellations, Rescheduling & Refunds

  • You have a 7-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase.

  • If your programme begins within those 7 days and you choose to cancel, you will receive a refund minus the value of any sessions already delivered, calculated pro-rata.

  • More than 72 hours’ notice: No fee. Your deposit can be transferred to a new date.
